How may I
help you?
What can you expect from this service:
"It's better to have a half-light delivery." “Giving birth in the water is great.” “No cold water, the warm water bath is the right one.” What is truth and what is a myth in this sea of information?
In the course, you understand "the why's" for each recommendation to improve your birth experience. This means that you will know a little about anatomy, physiology, hormones involved and non-drug pain management.
Don't worry, because even though I'm passionate about the health area, I understand that maybe you're not that much. Classes only contain really useful information, and everything is spoken in a light, playful way, with practical and simulation activities.
You will know what to do according to each type of situation that presents itself on the day of your baby's birth (whether or not the water breaks, the duration of delivery, the need or not of certain types of intervention). Fixing the techniques will become much simpler once you understand how your body works.
In addition, the course includes important postpartum knowledge. How does a pregnant woman or person recover? How does breastfeeding happen? What to expect from the baby's appearance in the first days of life? What are postpartum depression and baby blues, and how to identify them?
By the end of the classes, you will have the information you need - before, during and after childbirth - to be able to make informed decisions and be the protagonists of this moment.
If you feel that this course is for you, just fill out a form (very quickly), and I'll send you all the information first hand as soon as a new class opens. If you have any questions before that, you can send me a message and we'll talk :)
What can you expect from this service:
Each delivery is unique. Even if you are not expecting your first child, your experience will likely be different from the previous one(s). Preparing physically and emotionally can make this moment more pleasurable, autonomous and conscious.
My role in this service is to present you with the possibilities for your delivery, in addition to sharing techniques that have proven effective for pain management and whether you take medication or anesthesia.
Positions, massages, compressions, baths, breathing techniques - all this is part of the list of tools that you will have at your disposal, to get to know your body better, to know how to listen to it and to have autonomy.
At the initial stage, we'll talk a lot about your preferences (whether you want your delivery to be intervention-free or if you're okay with using oxytocin for induction, for example). Don't worry, I will never tell you what to do or judge your choices.
Based on what we talk about in the first consultations, I help you prepare a birth plan to share with the medical team. That way, they'll get to know your preferences better and leave you freer to focus on what's up to you.
Prenatal consultations are done in your home, or in a private place where you feel comfortable. Today I work face-to-face in Kitchener, Canada, and in nearby cities.
My schedule is very flexible, so I can meet you at the best time, at night or on weekends, for example. If you have a partner expecting this child with you, that person is involved and welcomed throughout the process.
I book on my schedule two weeks before and two weeks after your due date. Thus, I will be available whenever you need me, and I will be able to prepare the environment for the arrival of your son or daughter. Your favourite playlist, dimming the lights and an atmosphere worthy of this incredible moment. This is true whether you want to give birth at home, in the hospital or in a birthing centre, for example.
When the time comes, I will be there to advocate for your choices, remind you of what you are capable of and put you in touch with your desires for that moment. If something goes wrong, I'll make sure you're aware of all the options available to you to make the best decision for you and your son or daughter.
If you want, you can also make a postpartum consultation. Then, we can talk about your experience, the first care with the baby or ask specific questions. You look for me if and when you think it's necessary, and I'll meet you.
If you want to know more, you can schedule a free first conversation with me. So we can get to know each other, and I can answer any questions you have.
What can you expect from this service:
In theory, everything is wonderful. You can find a sea of content about parenting and breastfeed on the internet that can be quite helpful. But when you have your baby on your lap, practice brings up a lot of questions:
“Do I have enough milk? Is my baby getting the amount he needs? Is this grip correct? What is the best position for the baby to breastfeed? Is it for me? I'm in pain. Is it normal?
In addition, the moment of breastfeeding is often romanticized, as if everything needs to flow immediately. Not quite. In fact, this is a special moment of connection with your baby, but it can generate a lot of doubts and insecurities.
Don't worry or blame yourself for anything. Conflicting feelings can arise both for those who are having their first child and for those who have already lived this experience, after all, each baby is unique. So the process may require adaptations until you and your son or daughter figure out what works for you.
It is to solve all your doubts and prepare you for this moment that breastfeeding support exists. Regardless of how long you can or choose to breastfeed, having the right information will make this experience better and make you more confident about what you can do.
I work face-to-face in Kitchener, Canada, and in nearby cities. The consultation can be done at various times, according to your need, either at your home or in a private place where you feel comfortable. My schedule is very flexible so I can meet you at the best time, at night or on weekends, for example.
In the prenatal consultation, you understand how your body works; what to expect from milk production; what are normal routines; and what may indicate that it is time to seek professional support. In addition to a lot of other really useful information. In addition, we train with a doll, so you don't forget the theory when your baby is hungry and ready to feed.
You can also have a postpartum appointment as soon as your baby is born. We meet and I guide you in terms of positioning, handling, the quantity of milk, etc. In addition, we will apply the techniques and follow how your son or daughter reacts in real-time. You also get a Ph.D. in diaper analysis to see if your baby is well-fed.
Consulting helps a lot in returning to work. In addition to the emotional issue, there are a lot of practical decisions to be made in advance. How will the milk be given to the baby? Who will be with him? Will breastfeeding be exclusive, will he take formula or a combination of the two? You will also need to learn how to express your milk with the help of a pump and know how to store it correctly. I think about all this logistics together with you (and I also welcome you, because going back to work is not always easy).
Now, if you need help gently managing the weaning, some techniques help a lot. From knowing how and at what time to start weaning to promoting a weaning party. At the consultancy, we draw up an action plan so that this transition is not abrupt and happens in the most comfortable way possible for both of you.
You can also consult at any other time during breastfeeding if you are experiencing pain, have any questions or just want to make sure everything is ok.
